What are your reactions? What things should I add? Which things inspire you? Which things surprised you?
I, Kendel Christensen, live to serve, inform, and be expansively useful to my fellowmen. I seek to personally develop and provide to others: 1) An informed perspective, 2) worthwhile skills, and 3) Examples of superior success in the face of justifiable reasons to expect averageness. I strive to be a force for good and inspire lasting change in others’ lives especially regarding their self-awareness, interpersonal relations, and sense of possibility regarding the outside world. My goal is to live an honorable life and leave a path others will be inspired to follow.

Inspiration:
"I urge you to examine your life. Determine where you are and what you need to do to be the kind of person you want to be. Create inspiring, noble, and righteous goals that fire your imagination and create excitement in your heart. And then keep your eye on them. Work consistently towards achieving them."
(Joseph B. Wirthlin, "Life's Lessons Learned," Ensign, May 2007, 45-47)
"As a well spent day brings happy sleep, so a life well spent brings happy death."
-Leonardo da Vinci
"It is necessary to prepare and to plan so that we don't fritter away our lives. Without a goal, there can be no real success. One of the best definitions of success I have ever heard goes something like this: Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal. Someone has said the trouble with not having a goal is that you can spend your life running up and down the field and never crossing the goal line.
Years ago there was a romantic and fanciful ballad that contained the words, "Wishing will make it so / Just keep on wishing / And care will go" ("Wishing Will Make It So," lyrics by B. G. DeSylva). I want to state here and now that wishing will not replace thorough preparation to meet the trials of life. Preparation is hard work but absolutely essential for our progress."
(Thomas S. Monson, "In Search of Treasure," Ensign, May 2003, 19)
“It is not so much the major events as the small day-to-day decisions that map the course of our living. … Our lives are, in reality, the sum total of our seemingly unimportant decisions and of our capacity to live by those decisions” (Gordon B. Hinckley, Caesar, Circus, or Christ? Brigham Young University Speeches of the Year [26 Oct. 1965], 3).
“I think of another kind of tragedy we frequently see, that of persons of high aim and low achievement. Their motives are noble. Their proclaimed ambition is praiseworthy. Their capacity is great. But their discipline is weak. They succumb to indolence. Lack of effort robs them of will.”
(Gordon B. Hinckley, “And Peter Went Out and Wept Bitterly,” Tambuli, Aug 1994, 3)
"I am so thoroughly convinced that if we don't set goals in our life and learn how to master the techniques of living to reach our goals, we can reach a ripe old age and look back on our life only to see that we reached but a small part of our full potential. When one learns to master the principles of setting a goal, he will then be able to make a great difference in the results he attains in this life."
(M. Russell Ballard, Talk given to Salt Lake area young adults, October 18, 1981)
"Every accountable child of God needs to set goals, short- and long-range goals. A man who is pressing forward to accomplish worthy goals can soon put despondency under his feet, and once a goal is accomplished, others can be set up. Some will be continuing goals. . . . Of Jesus' preparation for his mission, the scripture states that he "increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man." (Luke 2:52.) This encompasses four main areas for goals: spiritual, mental, physical, and social. "Therefore, what manner of men ought ye to be?" asked the Master, and he answered, "Verily I say unto you, even as I am." (3 Ne. 27:27.) Now there is a lifetime goal-to walk in his steps, to perfect ourselves in every virtue as he has done, to seek his face, and to work to make our calling and election sure."
(Ezra Taft Benson, "Do Not Despair," Ensign, Nov 1974, 65)
